BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - After a week of investigating, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says that former Master Sergeant Williams “Billy” Squires violated the agency’s code of conduct and several policies, which led to his termination.
“It’s appalling to everyone,” said Beaufort County Sheriff PJ Turner.
Sheriff PJ Tanner is talking about the video captured last weekend on Hilton Head Island.
That shows off-duty deputy Billy Squires in his Sheriff’s office gear walk up to three teens with his gun pointed at them while also yelling at them to get on the ground.
And later shows Squires getting into a fight with them after going for a book bag.
“I wish I was that person that could dive into his mental thoughts and tell you why he did what he did, but I can’t do it,” said Tanne
