TAMA COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Tama County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two asphalt crew scams, one that led to a homeowner’s injury.
The Tama County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a fraudulent scam involving asphalt crews. The sheriff’s office responded to two incidents in the past day.
A homeowner was injured when they confronted the individuals who then ran away.
The sheriff’s office stated in a Facebook post, “We respect the many legitimate asphalt companies that serve our area. This message is not about them. It is about protecting residents from individuals who mislead, overcharge, or cause harm.”
