IOWA CITY — West High offensive lineman Colin Whitters typically blocks for touchdowns. But the Iowa football commit also took on a different role against Muscatine on Oct. 3.
With West High near the end zone in the second quarter, the Trojans put the ball in Whitters' hands. On a play that featured some misdirection, West High quarterback Reece Wheeler handed it off to Whitters, who fought through multiple defenders and reached over the goal line to score a touchdown.
Whitters, listed at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds and committed to the Hawkeyes , was elated.
On the sideline after the play, Whitters proclaimed, "I saw the end zone and I wanted that s--- more than anything. I pretended that was like Steak 'n Shake."
