The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several states, warning of heavy rainfall in parts of East and Northeast India, along with thunderstorms in various regions on Saturday, October 4. Several weather systems, currently active in the mainland are expected to affect the daily weather in various states. While, the southwest monsoon continues to withdraw, with its line passing through Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, Shahjahanpur, and parts of northern India, a depression lies over Odisha and Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, Cyclone Shakhti over the northeast Arabian Sea is moving northwest at a speed of 8 km/h. On October 3, 2025 at 5:30 pm, it was located about 280 km west of Dwarka and was expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by the morning of Octob
