The Skagit River will be closed Monday through Thursday to all fishing from Gilligan Creek to the mouth of the Baker River.

According to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, the closure is necessary to avoid gear conflicts during scheduled treaty fisheries.

Fish and Wildlife asks anglers to respect tribal fishers and reminds them not to interfere with tribal fisheries. Conflicts arising during ongoing fisheries could lead to additional time and area closures.
