ELLSWORTH -- The MDI Trojans made the short trip up to Ellsworth to face the Eagles on Saturday night.
In the first quarter, the Eagles were facing a third down and were looking to gain the remaining yardage for a first down. But the snap went over the head of quarterback Wyl Renwick, who chased it down and picked it up, but he was immediately met by freshman defensive end Joey Bennett who brought him down inside the two-yard line.
The Trojans would force a bad punt and take over inside the Eagles 30-yard line, where they made quick work of getting into the endzone. Sophomore running back Kenneth Stilwell took the handoff and walked in for the score giving MDI a 16-0 lead.
