SYDNEY - Maxim Schafer and Alexandre Desmarais each scored in the second period, Mathias Hernandez made 24 saves, and the visiting Chicoutimi Sagueneens blanked the Cape Breton Eagles 3-0 in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action at Centre 200 on Friday.

Schafer scored 46 seconds into the second frame, while Desmarais made it 2-0 at 8:44. Emile Guite scored at 13:48 of the third to add extra insurance for the visitors.

The Sagueneens outshot the Eagles 28-24 and went 0-for-7 on the power play. The Eagles were 0-for-5 with the man advantage.

Eagles netminder Connor Towle stopped 25 of 28 shots.

The Sagueneens improved to 4-1-0-1, while the Eagles slipped to 1-2-1-2.
