JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The mother of the 13-year-old hit and killed in Arlington is speaking now that a driver is behind bars.
We last spoke with the teen’s mother on Wednesday when she was calling on the person responsible to turn themself in.
Genesis Webber's family is relieved to know the man accused of hitting her and leaving her to die is finally in custody.
For her mother, Shardae Webber, the arrest is just the beginning of a much longer journey, one filled with grief, faith and a fight for justice.
“Honestly, he shouldn’t have been let back out in the first place, but I'm relieved I'm relieved he has been caught,” said Webber.
