PLEASANT GROVE — An 8-year-old boy riding a bike was struck by a car and critically injured on Friday night.

About 5 p.m., Pleasant Grove police responded to a crash in front of Lincoln Academy, 1582 W. 3300 North. Lt. Derick Shumway confirmed an SUV struck a boy who was riding a bike.

The boy was flown to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition, but further details of his injuries were not available.

The road in front of the school is shut down while police investigate. ×
