MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - On Friday, Rabbi Jon Prosnit learned that a probable deal is in the works to return Israeli hostages in Gaza. This comes after Hamas accepted some elements of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

Some details in the peace plan are still being discussed, but Rabbi Prosnit at Temple Beth El in Madison says he is hopeful.

“I think people are nervous. excited, a whole gamut of emotions,” said Prosnit. " I mean, this is something that we’ve been praying for over almost exactly two years, October 7th, 2023, for all hostages to come home and also an end to this war."

Prosnit says the Madison community has been impacted by the nearly two-year-long war in the Middle East.
