Norwin senior Jake Knight was named the school’s homecoming king during halftime of the team’s game against rival Hempfield.

After the coronation, he turned in a princely performance indeed.

Knight had two interceptions and hauled in what turned out to be a game-winning 37-yard touchdown pass from Tristyn Tavares with 9:27 remaining in regulation, as Norwin (5-1, 2-1) dealt visiting Hempfield (4-3, 1-3) a devastating 33-26 loss Friday at Norwin Knights Stadium.

“It was a crazy night. There was ups and downs all night,” Knight said. “There was a lot of emotions running through my mind, and I tried to focus on the game and stay ready to play.”
