LINCOLN, Neb. —
From an indicted former director to resigning commissioners, the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission faced weeks of turbulent news.
But Micah Chaffee is the new face in the executive director role, and he's hoping to chart a new course for the organization.
"Really, I see this as a fresh start," Chaffee said. "I think our staff sees this as a fresh start."
Chaffee had past experience with the commission, serving as legal counsel for the Nebraska Unicameral's General Affairs Committee.
"As part of my job, in the legislature, we covered the Liquor Control Act," Chaffee said. "And so I immediately met with the Liquor Control Commission to go through where they make recommendations on what they'd like to change within the Control Act."
