LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The man accused of severely beating and kidnapping a Lincoln woman was seen in court for the first time Friday.

Dominic Williams, 36, was charged with kidnapping and first-degree assault, and his conditional bond was set at 10% of $5 million.

According to court documents, that condition is no contact with the victim.

Around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent on a welfare check for a 37-year-old Lincoln woman.

Police said officers received a text message with a picture of the victim that “showed her injuries and claimed she had been killed.”

The investigation led officers to North First and Adams streets, where they spotted 36-year-old Dominic Williams leaving in a vehicle.
