CONWAY, Ark.- The seeds of a new town planted 150 years ago are now blossoming into the flourishing city of Conway.

To honor this moment, Jamie Gates with Conway Chamber of Commerce and city leaders gathered for a big celebration downtown that hosted art pieces, different entertainment booths and food.

"Our country and our state have changed a lot over that time; the city has changed a lot over that time, but one thing that hasn't changed is it has continued to grow," Gates said.

Back in 1875, the city started with a population of only 5 thousand 700 and is now home to nearly 70 thousand people. It is now listed as the eighth most populous city in Arkansas. Crystal Floyd says she's been living in the city for over 20 years and says she's seen the drastic change.
