The Labor Mountain Fire continues to challenge Chelan and Kittitas counties, burning 37,843 acres, north of Cle Elum.

Despite minimal growth due to moderated weather conditions, the fire remains only 7% contained, according to Complex Incident Management Northwest Team 12.

A community meeting took place in Cle Elum on Friday night, where residents gathered to discuss the fire's impact and ongoing response efforts.

Attendees raised concerns about road closures, particularly along U.S. 97, including Blewett Pass.

U.S. 97, between milepost 149 and 178, is closed through the end of the weekend. The Washington State Department of Transportation stated that crews will reassess conditions on Monday.
