Sadly, many owners still discard their pets in careless and cruel ways, placing them in danger without a second thought.

One Kentucky dog endured exactly that pain when his owners tied him to a small tree and hid him in a dense bush.

For three long days, he waited and hoped someone would return, until the reality of his abandonment began to set in.

A Neighbor Steps In At The Right Moment

Local residents eventually noticed the dog, later named Dubya, tucked quietly inside the shrubbery.

When it became clear that no one had checked on him for three days, a concerned neighbor contacted Louisville Metro Animal Services to report what was happening.
