Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday welcomed the progress in peace efforts in Gaza, appreciating the leadership of United States President Donald Trump. In a statement posted on X, PM Modi highlighted the indication of hostage releases as a significant step forward and reaffirmed India’s strong support for all initiatives aimed at achieving a durable and just peace in the region.

“We welcome President Trump’s leadership as peace efforts in Gaza make decisive progress. Indications of the release of hostages mark a significant step forward. India will continue to strongly support all efforts towards a durable and just peace,” PM Modi wrote on X.

Notably, Hamas on Friday agreed to release all Israeli hostages, both living and deceased as part of its response to the 20-point Gaza peace
