Nebraska football opened up its two-game swing against the Michigan-based Big Ten schools by coming up short of a ranked win at home against Bryce Underwood and Michigan.
Now, following its bye week, Nebraska looks to split its two-game home stand against the other Michigan-based Big Ten school in Michigan State.
The Cornhuskers and Spartans are set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola, who is two touchdown passes away from tying his career record, came in at No. 7 in USA TODAY Sports' Paul Myerberg's weekly ranking of the best quarterbacks in college football.
One thing to keep an eye on with Michigan State leading into the game is whether linebacker Wayne Matthews will play or not. The senior linebacker was carted off and taken to a hospital in the Spartans' Week 4 road loss at USC, but has been practicing this week.
Historically speaking, Nebraska and Michigan State have played some close games against each other, as each of the last five meetings has been decided by five or fewer points dating back to 2014. Saturday's game is Michigan State's first trip to Lincoln and Memorial Stadium since 2018.

"There are a few reasons to feel good about Michigan State's chances against the Cornhuskers. For one, the Spartans offense led by junior quarterback Aidan Chiles is clicking and still has room to grow, especially in the run game. ... But there's too much in Nebraska's favor this week. Like Michigan State, they are also coming off a bye, and the home cooking should give them an edge in what looks to be a bounce-back game in Lincoln. Michigan State's defense, already filled with holes when fully healthy, may still be dealing with injuries by kickoff even with the extra rest."
