STEELE, N.D. — Lindsay Dammel was driving her kids to school in Steele when she noticed the low-slung, concrete-block building for sale at 123 Mitchell Avenue South.
Out of nowhere, a thought crossed her mind: “That needs to be a roller rink.”
Lindsay had no clue where she got that idea. Yet the thought persisted every time she passed the brown-and-tan building which once housed the community’s bowling alley. It just wouldn’t go away. She even started dreaming about it.
“It’s not something I would have normally thought,” says the mom of three who lives in rural Crystal Springs, N.D. “But for whatever reason, that was just laid on my heart that there needs to be a roller rink for families to go to.”
