Arthur Jones, the defensive tackle who play in 64 NFL games for three teams over a seven-year career, died a the age of 39.
"Arthur’s presence was a gift to everyone he encountered," wrote Eric DeCosta in a statement from the Baltimore Ravens, where he played for four years. "His big, bright smile, infectious energy and eternal positivity created a presence that continuously uplifted others."
What was the cause of death? None was given, but per the Baltimore Banner: "Medical personnel were dispatched to Jones’ home in Central New York’s Onondaga County around 11 a.m. in response to a medical emergency, according to a police spokesperson. Jones had a preexisting medical condition, the spokesperson said, and he was pronounced dead at his home."
