Randy Loechner and Philip Gladden will open their fully renovated midcentury modern ranch to the public for the second time as part of the ModernSTL Fall Home Tour on Oct. 11. Their 1953-built home is one of eight that will be featured on the tour in the historic Ridgewood subdivision in Crestwood, with all proceeds benefiting an effort to get the neighborhood listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The house is among approximately 250 in the subdivision designed by famed local architect Ralph Fournier and built by successful St. Louis developer Burton Duenke. To meet the public’s growing demand for modern homes, Duenke, in collaboration with Fournier, conceived Ridgewood as a modern alternative to the traditional style homes he had been building.
