Days after the announcement of US President Donald Trump's 20-point Gaza peace plan, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday that the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, held a special situation assessment, noting the review was conducted in line with the recent political developments.

The IDF highlighted that the Chief of General Staff had asked for preparedness for the implementation of the first phase of Trump's Gaza plan.
