President Donald Trump has said he is dispatching 200 Oregon National Guard troops to protect Portland’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in a “War ravaged” city where police have been unable to stop people from “trying to burn down buildings, including federal buildings.”
“It’s every night, and they’ve done it for years,” Trump told a roomful of reporters in the Oval Office last week.
