HMRC is handing UK households who complete a 30-second task £252. Millions of newly married couples can do a simple 30-second check to see if they are missing out on £252 a year.
If you're married or in a civil partnership and under 90 years old, you may be entitled to a £1,260 tax break called the Marriage Tax Allowance.
Marriage Tax Allowance for the 2025/26 tax year is worth up to £252. If you're eligible and apply successfully, you'll also automatically get the tax break each year going forward.
