Parts of the UK are currently under siege from Storm Amy , with weather warnings in place due to heavy rain and winds reaching up to 100mph. Scotland is presently grappling with power cuts , primarily in the Highlands which have been most severely impacted by the weather. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks have announced that they are working to restore power on Saturday morning for over 60,000 individuals. ‌

The first named storm of the 2025/2026 season has also caused travel mayhem, resulting in widespread delays to trains and flights. Storm Amy's 'victims' have taken to TikTok to share their experiences of the severe weather. ‌
