Bo Bichette and Max Scherzer are among the big names the Toronto Blue Jays have left off their roster for the American League Division Series, which begins Saturday against the New York Yankees.
Bichette, the hard slugging shortstop, was left off, still trying to come back from a knee injury. If the Jays are able to advance past the Yankees, Bichette’s possible return would give the team a boost at the plate.
The Jays also left off pitchers Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, and Jose Berrios.
First baseman Ty France is also not a part of the 26-man roster for this round.
