One of the differences that often shocks foreigners traveling to the U.S. is that the prices displayed in supermarkets and other stores aren't the final ones. Instead, they always increase drastically once people have to pay, since these never display taxes.
The same can be said for flights. When people book a flight in the U.S., they first see the price without additional fees, which is obviously lower than the final price.
However, last year, a judge ruled that airlines should display the actual final price to avoid misleading customers. Plenty of travelers welcomed the decision enthusiastically since the difference is often significant.
Yet, this rule still needs to be enforced. Now, according to a Reuters article , the implementation of this rule may be postponed once again.
