The Vanrai police on Thursday arrested an employee of a corporate gifting company for allegedly duping the firm of Rs 5.75 crore by using forged purchase orders for 7,000 grams of gold coin and embezzling the coins for personal gains. The accused, identified as Sunil Gupta, 44, was produced in the court and remanded in police custody till October 7. The police have not recovered the misappropriated coins yet.

According to the police, complainant Naresh Jain, who runs a corporate gifting company for two decades, having his office currently in Goregaon (East), claimed in the FIR that he knew the accused for the past 4-5 years.
