WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office has concluded its independent review of an officer-involved shooting on June 6, 2025, finding the use of force justified, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office said in an online post.

The Sheriff's Office stated when the incident took place, deputies responded to a 911 call about a male suspect who forced entry into a residence and the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Jesse Shelton of Marion, then fled into the woods when confronted by the female resident.
