1 detained at the scene of suspicious death, police say

NORFOLK — Police said a person of interest has been detained at the scene of a “suspicious death” reported in the Chesterfield Heights neighborhood Saturday morning.

Authorities were called at about 5:45 a.m. to a home on Forbes Street. The neighborhood is between Interstate 64 and the Elizabeth River, to the south of the interstate and Norfolk State University.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Norfolk Police Department.

No other details were immediately available. Police said the death remains under investigation.
