PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police arrested two men during protests around the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in South Portland Friday night, according to the police bureau.
Police officers saw traffic in the area swerving around people who were encroaching into the street. Some drivers had to come to a full stop, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) said. The bureau's Dialogue Liaison Officers asked the group to move to the sidewalk, and most people complied, according to PPB.
However, two people "refused to move despite repeated requests," PPB said in a news release. The bureau also said police officers observed them "engaging in aggressive behavior toward each other in the street, both using sound amplification devices." They were arrested and face a charge of disor
