His acting career began in 1974 with the film *The Antichrist*. Over the years, he starred in numerous Italian films, including *Father of the Godfathers*, *Malamore*, *Breath of Life*, and *Don’t Stop Me Now*. In addition to his work in Italy, Girone appeared in the American action-drama *Live by Night* in 2016, where he played the role of Italian Mafia boss Maso Pescatore alongside Ben Affleck.
