YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A woman who pleaded guilty in August to manslaughter charges after a toddler in her care drowned was sentenced Friday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to six to nine years in prison.

Adrianne Hudson, 32, received the sentence from Judge Maureen Sweeney following Aug. 15 guilty pleas to charges of involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and endangering children, a third-degree felony.

Prosecutors were recommending a sentence of 8 to 12 years. Defense attorneys were arguing for a lesser sentence.

Hudson was indicted by a grand jury in January 2024 following the Sept. 29, 2023, drowning death of Londyn Cayson, 1.

Rochelle Hudson, Londyn’s mother, accused Adrienne Hudson of showing no remorse and dragging the case on for two years.
