LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Lufkin Panthers needed overtime to pick up their first district win, beating Beaumont West Brook 26-20.

KTRE Sports Director Ryan Smith broke down the game on Red Zone Overtime. He says the Pack needed this win after dropping their district opener last week.

“They were able to get the win in OT getting that touchdown and stopping West Brook for a much needed win,” Smith said. “Lufkin was able to respond and you love to see that. You look for a little bit more to build on each week as we get deeper in the season.”

Smith says Lufkin kept fighting regardless of the situation.

“It would have been easy for them to sit down and hand their heads and say ‘oh, we should have won in regulation’,” said Smith. “They were able to get the job done by picking up the touchdo
