(NewsNation) — Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said he received word from the Trump administration that they are intending to federalized 300 members of the Illinois National Guard.

"This morning, the Trump Administration’s Department of War gave me an ultimatum: call up your troops, or we will. It is absolutely outrageous and un-American to demand a Governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will," Pritzker said in a post on social platform X.

The move comes as protests continue in Broadview, a neighborhood in the west suburbs outside Chicago, where an ICE facility is housed and a raid by federal authorities at an apartment complex on Chicago's South Side earlier this week. Federal authorities said they arrested suspected Tren De Aragua members from that operation.
