William Patrick Howard died in a shooting and fire that took place at a Grand Blanc Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Howard was remembered as a devout member of his church and a stubborn, loving patriarch.

The funeral was attended by hundreds — including attendees from across state lines.

William Patrick Howard, a deeply religious man who drafted his own plans for his funeral, died on Sunday, Sept. 28, in a shooting and fire at the Grand Blanc Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

On Saturday, Oct. 4, Howard's family and hundreds more gathered at the Owosso Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to make good on his plans, down to the hymn.
