Duchess Meghan made her Paris Fashion Week debut on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The Duchess of Sussex arrived for Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Balenciaga show on Saturday in her first-ever appearance at the French fashion spectacle.

Videos shared on social media captured the shocking reactions as the former "Suits" star walked in with an all-white look, wearing an oversized cape and button-down shirt designed by Piccioli. She was also seen hugging the Italian fashion designer and whispering into his ear.

Why did Duchess Meghan attend the Balenciaga show?

Meghan attended the show to support Piccioli, who was recently tapped to become the creative director for the House of Balenciaga, the duchess's office told USA TODAY.

"Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage. She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different," the office said in a statement.

The duchess's office added: "This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga."

Meghan's attendance marks her first time at a fashion week show in over a decade.

Ahead of her 2018 royal wedding with Prince Harry, the duchess previously attended New York Fashion Week and Toronto Fashion Week.
