HARRISBURG — Week in and week out Harrisburg proves just how serious of a PIAA 6A championship contender it is.
The Cougars have dominated their opponents allowing just 6 points in its previous three contests leading up to Saturday’s matchup with Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division rival Altoona.
Harrisburg’s defense didn’t allow many points to be added to that total as the Cougars (7-0, 6-0 Commonwealth) routed Altoona (2-5, 2-4 Commonwealth) 45-7 at Severance Field Saturday afternoon.
Harrisburg’s offense couldn’t get out of its own way to start the game, but a strong defensive performance carried the Cougars to halftime.
By then the offense figured itself out, and helped Harrisburg cruise to a victory over Altoona.
