MISSOULA — In a clash of soccer teams picking up steam as the State AA playoffs near, the Missoula Big Sky and Helena Capital girls both found reasons to smile Saturday at Fort Missoula.

Not celebrate, but at least smile.

The Eagles and Bruins played to a 2-2 draw, extending noteworthy streaks in the balanced Western AA conference. Big Sky has won or tied its last six matches (four ties) and Capital has won or tied its last four (two ties).

How the teams felt about the outcome had a lot to do with how they've evolved since experiencing tough times earlier this season. Ties aren't wins but they aren't losses, either.
