ENFIELD, Conn. — A pedestrian was killed Saturday morning in Enfield after being struck by a vehicle, according to the town’s police department.

The motor vehicle collision happened at 9:43 a.m. on Route 190 at the intersection with Middle Road west.

Police say that a BMW SUV struck 57-year-old Kimberly Knowles, who was taken from the scene to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., where she was pronounced dead.

The 36-year-old driver of the BMW was taken from Enfield to Hartford Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Video reveals the BMW also crashed through The Jug Shop at the intersection, which according to owner Satish Panchel destroyed expensive alcohol along with the front part of the store. The shop is expected to stay closed throughout the next two to three weeks.
