SEATTLE — Hours before first pitch in Game 1 of the American League Division Series between the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers, parking near T-Mobile Park came at a premium.
Lots in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood are charging anywhere from $65 to $120 for game-day parking — with the lower end of that price range still a 20-minute walk from the ballpark.
For many fans, though, the cost is worth it.
“I already paid $400 to get into the game,” said Rita Tobin of Seattle. “It’s worth it because the Mariners made it this far.”
John McChesney, who drove up from Vancouver, Washington, paid $120 to park for the game with his two sons and his father. “This is priceless,” he said. “I won’t be thinking about how much I paid when they win.”
