A legendary rock band’s guitarist has announced he will be leaving the group’s current tour as he battles cancer.
Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs , co-founder and guitarist of Oasis , told fans in an Instagram post Friday that he will be stepping away from the Oasis Live ‘25 Tour to receive treatment for prostate cancer.
Arthurs, 60, said he was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
“The good news is I’m responding really well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this incredible tour,” the statement read. “Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney.”
The guitarist said that he plans to return to the tour in November to play shows slated for South America.
“I’m really sad to be miss
