PENOBSCOT COUNTY -- Applications are now open for Maine-based organizations to receive grant funding amid the opioid epidemic.

The Penobscot County Opioid Settlement Fund Grant was launched by the Penobscot County Commissioners Office. The Office announcing this on Friday, October 3.

They say it's designed to support local programs fighting the epidemic through prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery services within Penobscot County.

The Office says they've designated up to $400,000 for awards in 2026. Applications will be accepted for one-year funding and structured across three tiers. Tier 1 (up to $10k), Tier 2 ($10k - $25k), Tier 3 (up to $49,999).
