Prominent Aussie acts have joined thousands to honour a young woman’s life and push for a safer future after she was murdered on her way home from a night out.
Audrey Griffin, 19, was found dead in the Erina Creek on the NSW Central Coast on March 24 after she disappeared on her way home after a night out with friends in Gosford.
Her death was initially treated as non-suspicious, however a month later police arrested Adrian Noel Torrens and charged him with murder.
Just days later, the 53-year-old was found dead in his cell on April 24.
Organised by non-profit Stand With Audrey, which was set up by Ms Griffin’s mother Kathleen Kirby, the Light Up event was held at the polytec stadium on Saturday.
