PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Portland police have released the name of a man who was injured in an alleged shootout with officers in southeast Portland in September.
On Saturday, PPB said the suspect was identified as 30-year-old Bryan Velasco-Ruelas of Portland.
On Sept. 20, just before 9 a.m., officers were called to a disturbance at a gas station in the area of Southeast Foster Road and Southeast 84th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were told a man had threatened an employee at the gas station, but he had left before they arrived.
About 30 minutes later, police said they found the suspect, later identified as Velasco-Ruelas, at a Shell gas station near Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Division Street.
At that point, police said they did a “high-risk” traffic stop and exchanged gunfire
