Texas football hasn't looked like the preseason No. 1-ranked team at all in 2025, as it dropped its second game this season after falling to Florida 29-21 on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The Longhorns' schedule doesn't get any easier, either, as they now look forward to seven more SEC matchups and the Red River Rivalry against archrival Oklahoma in Week 7. The loss to the Gators, who snapped a 3-game losing streak, is a massive hit to Texas' College Football Playoff chances.
Heralded former 5-star quarterback Arch Manning continued his struggles this season, completing 16 of 29 passes for 263 yards with two touchdowns to two interceptions, which both came in the fourth quarter. He also rushed for 38 yards.
The win marks Florida's first against Texas, although the two historic programs had only faced three times prior to 2024. It's also the Gators' first win since beating Long Island in Week 1.
Here's a look at how social media reacted to the Longhorns' disappointing loss in Week 6.
