No. 7 Penn State played the worst first half of its season — and maybe of James Franklin’s tenure — at the Rose Bowl against UCLA on Saturday.
The Nittany Lions looked as if they were still mourning last week’s double overtime loss to Oregon in the White Out, limping to a 27-7 deficit at halftime. UCLA, with one of the nation’s worst offenses and a winless record, outgained the Lions in total yardage 285-92.
