Hundreds of people danced and paraded through Charlotte on Saturday as the 16th annual Hola Charlotte Festival was held in the city.
The festival, part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, showcases the diversity and culture of Hispanic people in North Carolina.
The celebration featured a parade, live music and street food vendors. This year's music headliner was Latin Grammy-winning artist Elvis Crespo.
Attendees however, said there had been a lower turnout on Saturday than usual for the popular festival.
"Compared to all of the other years it is poor. I wouldn't say that it's terrible, but it's a lot less people today than we have had in prior year," Marck del Castillo said.
Del Castillo has attended the event for over 10 years.
"Unfortunately today you can tell that the current situation in the country has kept, you know, people from coming."
