Louisville football ’s patchwork job with its running game could end up making the season come apart at the seams. The Cardinals couldn’t overcome gaining just 54 yards on the ground and fell to Virginia 30-27 in overtime on Saturday.
It marked the second consecutive game they were held under 100 yards rushing. They only failed to reach 100 twice all last regular season. (Technically, in sack-adjusted yards they had exactly 100 in regulation.)
