MACOMB TWP. – Caitlyn LeBel turned up, looked at the scoreboard and quickly gave a double pump with her right fist.

It’s almost like the Utica Eisenhower senior knew something special.

She did.

Not only did LeBel’s foursome that included Natalie Gabriel, Erin O’Rourke and Maya Bowman post a season-best effort of 3:49.76 in the 400 freestyle relay – but the effort was also a state-qualifying mark in Division 1.

LeBel anchored the winning unit in the 400 freestyle relay which also put the finishing touches on the team title for Eisenhower at the 2025 Macomb County Girls Swim and Dive Championships at Macomb L’Anse Creuse North.

The title is the first for Eisenhower since 2018 and it signals the tide is turning within Macomb County’s circles. At least for now.
